Between March and April 2020, Yorkshire, England, witnessed a staggering 192 reported UFO encounters, adding to the over 200 recorded sightings in the region over the years. These encounters have been reported since the 1990s.
On June 9th of this year, the most recent UFO encounter took place in Leeds, West Yorkshire. Witnesses reported seeing two thin, black, and elongated triangular shapes flying in the sky, which then stopped mid-air around 12:55 p.m., as reported by Yorkshire Live.
Additionally, another UFO sighting in Yorkshire occurred when a white triangular-shaped UFO was spotted, causing a stir.
Brian, a local investigator of mysterious phenomena, asserted to have encountered several UFOs while exploring abandoned buildings at night.
As per the Daily Mail, Brian, along with other local investigators, speculate that the prevalence of abandoned military bases in Yorkshire might be the contributing factor behind transforming the area into a “hotspot” for UFO activity.
“They (UFOs) are drawn to Yorkshire by the peaks that we have, which are higher than in other parts of the country. Add to that the vast spaces and a lot of disused military bases, and they are not used,” Brian said.
“There are hundreds of abandoned military bases, bunkers, and RAF airfields… A lot of these locations are not known to the public because they are hidden,” Brian added.
“These locations are mainly sought out by urban explorers, enthusiasts of the mystical who come to shoot videos, or history lovers and believers in UFOs to explore,” Brian further explained.
The investigator of mysterious phenomena also revealed that just a few weeks ago, his team discovered four UFOs in one night. Brian believes they cannot be commercial aircraft “because they fly on the same straight line side by side.”
Ellen Dean, who lives in the village of Fearby, also disclosed that she witnessed mysterious light beams in her backyard in March 2020 and believes that the light was not from a type of low-flying aircraft from an RAF station or lantern.
Ash Ellis, a local conspiracy theorist and owner of the UFO Identified website, specializing in posting stories and reports about UFOs, also believes that Yorkshire’s many military bases could attract UFOs.
UFO does not necessarily mean extraterrestrial spacecraft; it is simply an unexplained phenomenon/object.
“History shows that UFOs are often seen around military bases or nuclear facilities. So, if they are conducting a ‘reconnaissance’ visit to us, they might be particularly interested in our weapons and technology,” Ellis speculates.
However, Ellis also notes that UFOs do not necessarily mean extraterrestrial spacecraft, but could be anything unidentified.
The persistent UFO encounters in Yorkshire continue to intrigue and mystify both locals and enthusiasts alike, raising questions about the nature of these phenomena and their potential explanations. As investigations and speculations persist, the enigma surrounding UFO encounters in Yorkshire remains a topic of fascination and curiosity for many.
